Tales of Eternia
Since the fansub’s done and I got to watch everything, then I guess I could write a review of it now. Tales of Eternia is basically about one… two… three… oh hell A bunch of people out to save the world. The story starts with 4 people, namely Rid (your barbarian type), Keel (scholar type), Meredy (little sister type) and Farah (nagging sister type). But these are very loose descriptions. And they will remain loose because of some of my complaints about the 13 EP “series.” Anyways, the world (planet) Inferia will collide with the planet Celestia in what is called to be the “Grand Fall.” That’s the premise of their jorney and their mission is to prevent that by going to Celestia. I wasn’t able to watch it a second time so just correct me if I’m mistaken or may have misunderstood the episodes. Still, I have a few complaints. One would be the development… or lack of it would be better, Character development is minimal, plus the fact that there were characters added along the way, and the development seemed that it revolved around those new characters. So the 4 primary characters didn’t get much attention and remained “loosely described.”
My verdict probably would be this. It’s not a bad anime because the story is decent, the characters are decent, the animation is decent. Nothing worth condemning. I want more EPs. I hope they make TOE2. Watch, it. I’m pretty sure it’ll make you beg for more… even after it’s done! (because it doesn’t resolve anything, so of course you’ll be begging for more. |
