A considerable amount of time has already passed since I watched the animes I’m reviewing. Please bear with me if it isn’t detailed enough since I sometimes even cant recall the characters’ names hehehe, but hey at least it still leaves it as a mystery hahahaha. Onto the review. . .

Abenobashi Mahou Shotenggai¹

Just when you thought Gainax hit the top of ridiculouslness with FLCL they come up with yet another twisted series. Well to be honest, FLCL still holds the belt of “the strangest” I’ve ever seen.

AMS (as I will refer to the series form now on), is another “absurd” (sure… like anime in general isn’t eh?) series released by Gainax². And to get the idea of the treatment they used, then again, I say it would be closest to FLCL.

It’s still very fast, very funny, very strange. but it makes more sense. It follows a more obvious plot, as I would like to say.

It’s about 2 childhood friends who are transported to parallel dimensions/worlds after an accident in the real world. And they basically should get the chance to return every-time they reach their goal in that certain world. Of course it’s obvious that they keep on messing that up – and end up in yet other strange places… hence the several episodes.

Don’t get me wrong, the episodes are great by virtue of hilarity. The general story (I think) is pretty interesting but I don’t know if it’s just because I really enjoyed the humor. You can give me an anime which story is utter crap, as long as it’s really funny (or interesting in its own way), then i’d still like it… all for the sake of entertainment.

I can’t really get into the details of what makes this series good for me as it is obviously the humor, and coupled with the fact that it’s FLCL type humor, you can’t possibly be expect me to describe that.

I suggest you just watch it. It’s great!
