A couple of things have happened. Best to write them down here so years along the road, I can look back and see what stuff has happened circa mid-July of 2004.

Who am I kidding, this is a mercy post just so I can post something. But might as well talk about stuff while I’m at it.

ANIMO LASALLE!

Well, it’s just the first game, so it may have been a lucky break. After all, those were the defending champions which they beat. I remember Mike saying “FEU natatalo ninyo, pero Ateneo hindi… MGA INUTIL!”

As much as I want to say the same thing, one game is far from enough to gauge how strong [or weak] La Salle is. Let’s just hope that it WASN’T a fluke, and that the Green Archers have finally got their act back together and start kicking some ass.

Raffy’s Birthday

Last night, to celebrate my brother’s birthday, we had dinner at Bellini’s (did I spell that right?) near Araneta Coliseum. Pretty brave of us since it was right after the La Salle vs. FEU UAAP match.

After that, we went to Mike and Cheri’s place where the family either played the Playstation or …get this… SCRABBLE.

Been a while since I’ve played scrabble, so I just sat beside Dad helping him look for a lot of points. I now question why I helped him, since he was able to Scrabble and thus earn 50 more points early on.

He won, obviously.

Pics are at the gallery.

JVC Badminton Open

The JVC badminton open was now held at Glorietta. It’s beyond me why they keep on changing venues, but hey, who am I to argue.

Today was double’s day. And we were fortunate to have watched the Asuncion siblings (Philippine National Team members) play. They murdered their competition, and they look great on the court (stance, etc.) The outcome was so obvious that it makes you wonder why they’re allowed to play hahaha.

The light was testing the Rebel Alliance’s “preferred photography settings.”

I think Nono had the edge as he had his fast zoom lens with him, which was perfect for sports. I was using my 28-135 IS USM, which specializes on low-light, yet steady subjects.

Suffice to say, both of us ended up using our 1.8 50mm primes hahaha… as well as boosting up our ISOs to the heavens.

In any case, it was yet another fun day of photo-practice for us.

Pictures of the JVC open in the gallery.
