Just to break free from the “pilgrimage posts,” I’d like to share some musical discoveries I’ve experienced thanks to Paolo, who is part of our pilgrimage group. His iPod was loaded with a ton of varying genre’s so I couldn’t help but copy its contents to my laptop.

One artist that caught my ear was Damien Rice, which is already been in the scene a long time ago, but in any case: I just heard him now. He has the aura of a Jeff Buckley, only that his songs are much, much sadder.

Here’s a nice last chorus from his song Cannonball

Stones taught me to fly Love, taught me to lie Life taught me to die So it’s not hard to fall When you float like a cannon..

Stones taught me to fly Love taught me to cry so come on courage Teach me to be shy ‘Cause it’s not hard to fall And I don’t wanna scare her It’s not hard to fall And I don’t wanna lose (-) It’s not hard to grow When you know that you just don’t know.

Hit the nail right in the head. – how very true indeed.
