Killing the board
2006.07.10 1:42 PM
In an attempt to streamline the sections of the site, I’ve decided to junk the discussion board. For one thing, there aren’t any “discussions” going on there to begin with. I basically keep them up because of the anime reviews I used to do years ago. What I did now is migrate those reviews to the blog – hence the new anime category you see. I had fun migrating those entries, since I got to actually read through them again… oh boy, those were the days… terrible writing, simply terrible (just like now hahaha). But at least they were informative. And they actually helped a lot of users back in the day (when I was active on IRC) I also thought it was high time to put that particular category up since I like writing about the stuff I watch. I didn’t have the patience to have to log into the board and navigate to the section just to post – especially after I’ve been spoiled by blogging using Ecto, Markdown, and the lot. I scoured the net for different images I could use to represent each review (those were just added, so they weren’t part of the original review). I write this as a disclaimer that those images aren’t my own. I can’t remember each source so I’m posting this as a reference in case any one of those people start mailing me saying “hey, what are you doing with my intellectual material.” Honestly I don’t think anyones would be too pathetic as to even come after me because of a bunch of images they made. It’s not like I’m claiming them as my own, nor am I selling them. Tell you what;if you find these pictures, and want proper credit, just e-mail me and I’d be more than willing to put the information on the Flickr page where they’re uploaded. Now there are approximately 30+ entries as of this posting, which is funny since I only post those I’ve finished watching (so the series/seasons/OVAs have to be complete). And I did a rough estimate of series/movies/etc. that I’ve already finished, it comes to about 150+ The problem is, that I vaguely remember any of them – so while I would like to review them, I don’t have the time to find the discs, and re-watch them. I guess I’ll try reviewing the recent anime I’ve watched and if I have the time, I’ll try to find other reviews out there I can base the old ones off of – and just put in my 0.02 cents to make a complete personal review once in a while. For those reading this blog who actually like anime, maybe you could pick from this rough list of what anime I’ve watched which you’d like reviewed. Perhaps you’re thinking of downloading something, but aren’t sure if it’s worth it. That’s where these reviews can come in handy. Here’s a rough list of what I’ve seen (still a bunch of them missing)
