Siyempre after I got on my soapbox in the last post, I totally didn’t “deliver the goods” during a performance in CTK. Not just “not deliver properly” my alleged part, but quite literally was nowhere in the vicinity to deliver.

I saw my [half] brother-in-law Bubi attend the thing and we got to talking. The fact that it was ridiculously cold and he was a race-car driver led us both to the most logical agreement of thawing out in parking lot so he could also check out my car. We were slated to sing in the second set, and it seemed there was so much time. I was expecting literally 10 more minutes or something… even without an intermission/break.

About 3 minutes into the conversation, I look to the church and see a group on stage wearing earth tones. Strange… only BP was wearing earth tones as far as I can recall. When I saw Ali’s unmistakable scarf, it dawned on me that the second half had already started!

‘Twas a shame because the only song I was looking forward to singing that night was that particular song (well that, and “The Majesty and Glory of Your Name”1 ). I really missed (pun intended) singing that song. And I missed it again, goddamnit!

Anways, I’m posting about it because the last thing I want is to be someone who talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk. I have no excuse for this lapse in responsibility, and the least I can do at this point is own up to it and apologize to anyone that was “hassled” by it. While I’m sure it’s no biggie, since everyone could’ve substituted easily,2 I just don’t like being the reason for any “complication” in anything that should’ve been executed like clockwork.

I admit it, I was the weakest link tonight… and I apologize. Won’t happen again… I hope ;)

On a positive note, I was able to finally get a Hydration Pack earlier in the day. I chose the Deuter Compact EXP 8 because it fulfilled the following requirements:

  1. Can fit a 2-litre bladder/reservoir
  2. Slim/thin default profile, but expandable when needed; just like my Boblbee Mentor)
  3. Highly breathable. Granted, most hydration packs are designed to be breathable, but this seemed to have an even wider mesh.
  4. Oodles and oodles of compartments: Built-in jacket/helmet compartment; outer pockets; inner compartment divisions; inner pockets; inner inner pockets; hell, they even made the hip fins double as pockets.

More on that in a later post.

    1. Which unfortunately was going to be sung by a different choir hahaha
    2. And it wasn’t like it was OUR concert
