Day Eight of the 10-day meme

• Day One: Ten best things about being alive.
• Day Two: Nine things about yourself that you like.
• Day Three: Eight things you know for sure.
• Day Four: Seven things that make you laugh.
• Day Five: Six things you are thankful for/appreciate every day.
• Day Six: Five people in whom you perceive Ultimate Goodness.
• Day Seven: Four turn ons.
• Day Eight: Three things you want to do for your community / the world.
• Day Nine: Two things you think you need to work on personally.
• Day Ten: One thing you’d like to change about your life.

I’m ashamed to say that I’ve always been the type of person who believed in the saying “help yourself before you help others.” So “helping others,” with the exception of those close/dear to me, was never one of my priorities. Interestingly enough, I find myself doing stuff “out of character”¹ from time to time.

In any case, I’m drawing blanks on the actual official requirement, but I guess the next best thing is to just mention what I hope for our communities – without necessarily having to do something about it.

1. That people use logic over sentiment (especially during elections)
2. That rich people stop being too damn greedy – to the point of using their power/influence to find ways to be even more greedy at the expense of those less fortunate than they are.
3. That people realize a balance between secularism and faith can be achieved.
