Wow, I thought this would be easy… but apparently everyone I know seems to have at least one issue that exempts them, so I’ll have to bend the rules a bit.
Normally Cris would be in this list, after all, she’s with me; anyone who can put up with someone like me deserves a medal or something. But I figured that including one’s SO in these lists tends to be too biased and too much of a cop-out to have any weight/meaning, 1 I have included Cris in two previous days – but her inclusion on those are legitimate as the “answers” on those days CAN be biased. so I’m going to force myself to use other people this time around.
- Aunt Gigi (Carlos)
- Uncle Ben (Santos)
- Jennie (Mateo)
- Christine (Cortez)
- Mom
Aunt Gigi, to me, is a saint. She’s always been good friends with my mom and we used to go to their beach house in Nasugbu as kids. Her whole family is unbelievably spiritual – but they manage to do it in a way that’s not annoying at all (admirable, in fact) to people like me (i.e. skeptics). I guess that’s what makes the whole relationship between us so interesting – further proof that a difference in opinion need not strain relationships.
Also, since I did mention my issues with religion in day three I’ll admit that If there’s one person that can restore my faith in the Church, she’d be one of them – assuming everyone else could actually follow her lead.
Uncle Ben is Dad’s brother who’s so kind, that if anyone gets into an argument with him, we already know that the other person is wrong.
Jennie, from the times we do get to do a heart to heart talk, I’d have to say is a genuinely good and well-meaning person. And that’s saying something because as far as “spirituality/religiousness” goes, I’m practically her opposite.
Last but certainly not least, we have Chrise and my Mom, I know very well – so I can’t really say they’re angels… HOWEVER all my life I’ve seen them show such a fierce sense of responsibility (at the expense of their own leisure/convenience) which to me is very admirable.
